Technology At CES At Christ Episcopal School we believe that computers are tools to help teach and learn, like pencils, paper and textbooks. Our motto is, "Don't teach about computing; use computers to teach". From the 30 classrooms that utilize interactive electronic white boards for whole class instruction to the four, 24 wireless laptop computer carts that turn any middle school classroom into a computer lab, students are actively engaged in the learning process via technology. Early Childhood Center There are two student computers in every classroom. Teachers provide developmentally appropriate educational software for students to explore. In Kindergarten, all computers are networked and connected to the internet. Such software as Kidspirations, Kid Pix, Accelerated Reader and Microsoft Word are used to enhance the learning process. All kindergarten classrooms are equipped with Promethean Boards and multimedia projectors.
Lower School The Lower School has four to five networked desktop computers in each classroom. All classrooms are equipped with Promethean Active Boards, DVD players and multimedia projectors. The first and second grade wing has a 10 computer mini lab for small group use. The third and fourth grade wing has a laptop cart to use for whole class research, writing projects and keyboarding practice. A full time technology teacher is available to assist teachers with integrating technology in all subject areas. Middle School Middle school classrooms have five to six networked desktop computers. Three, 24 wireless laptop carts are also available for the middle school teachers to use for whole class research and writing projects.
