Keys to the Future- Phase 3 Campus Development

This phase will complete the development of the elementary/middle school site as originally envisioned in the early 1990's. The Board of Trustees approved the first part of the construction for this phase in the spring of 2005. The remaining construction projects will be approved as funds become available.

  • Constructed  two classroom buildings (approx. 13,000 sq. ft each.) with six classrooms in each for first through fourth grades. These classrooms were occupied at the beginning of  2005-2006 school year. Improvements to roads, carpool and parking infrastructure were made to accomodate increased enrollment at the site.
  • Construct a multi-purpose performing arts building for use by the school as well as Christwood residents. The plans for this building are drawn in three phases. Estimated cost of completion is $3.5 million.
    • Initially, a raised, screened in pavilion will be constructed. This will be used as an eating and gathering area as well as for classroom activities.
    • The next phase will add 6 classrooms for music and art instruction as well as meeting space for various school groups. It will also provide space for an expanded drama program while freeing up additional middle school classrooms for the core curriculum.
    • The final phase will be a true little theatre structure which will seat approximatlely 225 people. This space would be used for worship and performing arts. The building will also provided permanent exhibit space for art by students from throughout St. Tammany Parish and the neighboring communities. The space could also be used for community forums and other needs.
  • Continue to build the "Securing Our Future" Endowment Fund. By 2010, the goal is $500,000 in this fund with our long term goal being $2,000,000. The purpose of the endowment fund is to promote the long-term growth of CES. The earnings distributed from the endowment fund are restricted to scholarship grants for students and faculty/staff compensation.
  • Expansion to include a high school (Phase 4).  The Board of Trustees and the Vestry of Christ Church have recognized the desire to extend the educational mission of CES to children in grades 9-12. The addition of a ninth grade to the current program is being planned for the 2009-2010 school year, with an additional grade to follow in each of the next three years. The initial emphasis will focus on funding the programmatic elements through an Endowed Chairs Program, with a goal of $450,000. Fundraising for necessary bricks and mortar will be initiated later in the process. Click here for more information.
  • Add a swimming pool with pool house. The pool will allow CES to expand the summer camp activities offered and provide additional physical education and athletic opportunities. In addition, improve and expand athletic fields with outdoor concession area.    Estimated cost is $500,000.

Fundraising Goal: $8.0 million

Campaign Term: 2004 - 2010
