Welcome to the Art at the Park 2009   Tuesday Go Home!

Art at the Park Headed West with Trailblazing SUCCESS!

The preliminary total for this year is over $100,000.  WOW!

The mission of Art at the Park is to produce a first-class family oriented festival that celebrates the abundance of creative visual and performing arts talent while highlighting the natural beauty of the Christ Episcopal School campus. I feel that this year's committee had that in mind while planning this year's event.  Therefore, with Heartfelt thanks to our CES children and parents and the CES staff, the AATP committee thanks you for helping us to make this year's AATP a success.

I would personally like to thank Shondi Mulkey, Past Chair, for her guidance and support, Joanna LeDoux, for a night to remember with the "Fandango" opening night party, Chandra Gordon, Shelly Colomb, and Rhonda Couture for the fun filled children's tents and activities, Jane Preau, for the organizing the delicious grub and concessions, Heather Simon, for rounding up all of our generous volunteers, Meg Smith, for her organization of the Children's Art Auction, Joel Juge, for counting all of those tickets, Beth Manifold, for organizing the tuition raffle, Sue Loustalot and Sarah Danenhower for the creative signs and publicity, Lisa Green for organizing the Juried Art Show, Diana Matherne for roping in our generous sponsors, Liz Autin, for organizing the Box Parade, Gina Beck, for her organization and time spent on t- shirts, Sue Zaunbracher, for helping me keep my head above water,  and last but certainly not least, to Johnny Despeaux, for putting his time, energy and hard work into the site preparation for both Friday, Saturday, and days before and after!  And... for never telling me "no!" Art at the Park would not have been such a success without this hard working committee.

I would also like to thank the following parents for their generous time and assistance with the Children’s Art Projects: Paula Davis, Elaine Robinson, Monica Caldarera, Michelle Stalter, Meagan Dubriel, Kim Vanderbrook, Rachel Pinto, Mary Frances Rabito, Eugenie Suggs, Gina Beck, and Lisa Green.  Thanks also to the Art teachers, Sarah Sparkman-Boyd and Ruth Siporski  for their time and energy in helping to make the juried art show and children’s art auction such a success.

Special Thanks to Pattick and Erin Berrigan for the mouth watering pulled pork,  Paul and Tania Vining for the delicious jambablya and fries, Alexis and Debra Hocevar for the awesome snowballs and Luan Copeland for the wonderful cotton candy.

We have some adorable pictures posted on the website.  Click here to go to the slideshow.

Susan Carey, mother of Conner and Kristen Cloutman won this year's tuition raffle.

Thank you again to all of our generous sponsors.

LOST:  A "flip" video camera in a black velvet pouch. It is the size of a cell phone and was last seen on the desk in the middle school office on Friday afternoon.  If you find it, please return it to Jennifer McGee at the middle school office.  Thank you!

When leaving on Saturday afternoon, after bidding my farewell to Mr. Homer, I approached the ‘swinging doors' with a gentle wind behind my back.  On their own, the doors gracefully swung open.  I proceeded through them alone with a huge smile on my face and a single thought in my mind... God could not have given us a more beautiful day shared with such beautiful people.  I then jumped (more like crawled) into my jeep and headed off into the sunset, with happy memories that I will not soon forget.

It has been my honor to serve you as Art at the Park Chairperson,

Farewell,

Nicole Reilly

Art at the Park Chairperson, 2009
